"About the Artist"

Photo of Terrie K Terrie K, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, began drawing and painting as a very little girl. By the time she was in the first grade at Hueytown Elementary School, she was already winning art awards in the Alabama State fair.

Terrie excelled at anything and everything creative; art, crafts, music, dance...as well as in academics. She became very involved with the 4-H Club, winning major recognitions in Public Speaking and Demonstration. With the help of her parents, Terrie K's 4-H booth at the fair always made a great impression, and most often, took home the prizes. (In fact, this is probably where Terrie got her first experience with murals. She was always in charge of designing and painting the back drops for the exhibits.)

By the time Terrie K was in Jr. High School, she was studying art privately and in school, publishing a school newspaper, singing in the choir, playing clarinet in the concert band, and she was a majorette performing with the marching band.

Terrie K moved to Jackson, Tennessee with her family in 1984 and graduated with honors from Northside High School in 1986. During her senior year, she was already attending college at Jackson State Community College as a rising Senior. (Terrie received an airbrush as a graduation present from her parents, but soon found that she preferred to paint with traditional brushes.)

As she continued at Jackson State, she majored in Communications and Advertising. The advertising field seemed to offer Terrie a chance to work in all the subjects she loved, art, graphics, and illustration, music, journalism and public speaking.

In 1988, she graduated Cum Laude with an Associates Degree in Communications and Advertising. In the same year, she won the title of "Miss Jackson State Community College" and competed in the "Miss Tennessee Pageant", a preliminary to the "Miss America Pageant", and won the "Dean's Presidential Scholarship" to Memphis State University.
After studying Commercial Music Business at Memphis State for year, Terrie K returned to Jackson and studied journalism, computers, art and world religions at Lambuth University and on her own.

In 1991, Terrie K became the female lead singer for the band formerly known as "Real Too Real". (Most people now know them by their new name that they signed with Sony under; "Fuel") Terrie K began touring as a singer for the next several years. She traveled the Eastern U.S., the Caribbean Islands, Mexico and Canada. While she wasn't on stage singing, she had the wonderful experience of meeting and studying with artists from all these areas.

When Terrie K returned home, she opened her own company, Terrie K Entertainment Productions. Terrie K sees her company as a vehicle for her to work in all the fields she loves. Since opening this company, she has released her own CD for which she designed all the artwork and graphics, she published an area wide entertainment magazine for which she designed all the graphics, ads and layouts, she has designed web pages and web graphics, sold<
