Dainty purple Nightshade blossoms twine their way up this pretty egg, alternating among bands of tiny stars, tender shoots and more miniature blooms.  I really love how this Pysanka turned out, the petals on the blossoms are soft and faded and the background is a lovely muted blue/gray giving a really dreamy feel to the egg.

This beautiful Pysanka was made in the traditional batik wax and dye process on a real blown double yolk turkey egg shell, which is sealed with a coat of archival, industrial grade UV resistant, crystal clear finish. It measures approximately 3 1/4 inches tall.

The process begins by meticulously measuring and drawing out the design in pencil before it goes through a process of waxing, etching, and dyeing. Etching technique is used to create the raised borders and create a three dimensional effect.
