Shoshana's
impressionistic work hangs in many homes across the country and around
the world. Her vivid portraits of people and pets are popular gifts. Her
landscapes and seascapes are inspired by her frequent travels.
As a jewelry designer her unique pieces are made by combining handmade components into wearable works of art.
Her work has sold in galleries, shows, demonstrations, and fundraisers in multiple states and online.
Artist Statement
My passion for art started at a very young age. My mother was an incredibly creative person and prolific artist. Together we frequented art museums, shows and studios both here and abroad.
I consider myself mostly self-taught; though I very much treasure the techniques learned by attending art and
jewelry conventions.
I have been teaching various art classes and workshops since 1995, including jewelry,
wirework, metalwork, lampwork, enameling, metal clay, painting,
watercolor, soft and oil pastels, mosaics, polymer clay, stained and
fused glass.
My
artwork and
materials are ever changing. I find that every new experience sparks my
imagination, improves my work and sends me off in a new fun direction. I
love sharing knowledge with my students. Many times I find myself
inspired by their creativity.
"Life
is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a
pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming --
WOW....................What a Ride!!!"
