Towards the East BlackRock 2 is on the road in Black Rock Campground in Joshua Tree National Monument looking towards the East and slightly south of Towards the East Black Rock. This is part of the Joshua Tree Chronicles that was funded by the Puffin Foundation to show Joshua Trees burned on Joshua Tree wood and as fine art. The wood was processed circa 1940 and no longer is being processed. The wood is porous and requires that I wear safety equipment to protect from the burned particulates. Joshua Trees are part of the lily family and develop their unusual shapes from a beetle in the tree giving to its unusual shapes that appear to be reaching towards the sky in prayer. "Joshua praying" The Joshua Tree is one of the most interesting and dear to my heart and soul as a subject.
