Shape Shifter is the first of a series of pyrography drawings showing the unique Joshua Tree of the Mojave Desert. Each tree is different, each tree has a grotesque shape with dagger like leaves with spine tips. The trees were so named by the Mormans because it appeared as Joshua reaching up to the heavens. The wood is toxic to burn so safety measures need to be taken when the art is applied to the Joshua Tree wood. This is the first of a project to depict the unique structure of each tree and the fine art concept of pyrography. It is a project that has been funded by the Puffin Foundation.By commenting, you agree to our Community Guidelines.
