Boy Scouts Trail Head is part of the Joshua Tree Chronicles with a grant received from the Puffin Foundation. The Joshua Tree is unique upon itself with is ancient shapes that each tree takes as a result of a beetle within the tree. Each tree is burned onto Joshua Tree wood that was processed circa 1940. The wood is no longer being processed due to the protection of the tree. Each tree is different as each piece of wood is different. Each piece of wood is selected with the shape and composition of the drawing. Pyrography has transcended from the woodburning craft to fineart with all the subtleties of composition and form. The wood itself is toxic when burned and special care is taken when the drawing is being accomplished.
