Chamber Music

Art: Chamber Music by Artist Shelly Bedsaul
Chamber music, light and bright, causing colors to dance within my mind. Like gentle winds and spring breezes, lifting thoughts like leaves and weaving them in and out of the would be obstacles of life. Day dreams. Free dreams. This is an earlier incarnation of my abstracts. I called it my spongy squirty technique. Only the background was done with any brushwork. The rest is done with stencils, wooden blocks covered with rubber bands, assorted sponges, the edge of a scrap mat board, whatever I could get my hands on that wasn't considered "traditional". It was born out of a class I gave to a 13 year old. "How to make a painting, when you don't have any brushes or canvas". We had a blast, made a mess and SHE taught me how to paint without brushes. Painted on gessoed wood and sealed with clear acrylic varnish.
