SOLD - The Beauty and The Tenderness

This piece of art won Patron's Choice award in the art exhibit FOTM: Morning Glory

Art: SOLD - The Beauty and The Tenderness by Artist Shawn Marie Hardy
The morning glory is one of my favorite flowers - besides the fact that one species is a glorious shade of blue-violet (my favorite color), it is a creeping vine that spreads, spreads, spreads all over the place and a wall of beautiful blue-violet morning glories is better than a field of poppies.

The seeds of the Morning Glory produce hallucinations when ingested - they have been used in some cultures for medicinal purposes and supposedly, make a good painkiller. I created this surreal vision as one might find it in the depths of the mind, with a morning glory vine in the foreground. I personally would never experiment with hallucinogens, or any drug for that matter, but it's intriguing to wonder about. Where else would one find a blue llama peering out from distant trees?

This piece is now owned by U.K. musician, Jon Woode, which he is using for his upcoming CD "The Beauty and The Tenderness." Go to www.myspace.com/jonwoode for more information on Jon's music.

This piece was done using Golden acrylic paints, photo images, and magic on canvas board.
