the skeleton in her closet

Art: the skeleton in her closet by Artist Sara Field
I love Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. If you haven't been to one yet, they sell all kinds of fabulous discards for repurposing! There are rows of old doors and windows, flooring and hardware and so much more. I got a small pile of vintage wooden cupoard doors with beveled edges. While there, I also found a roll of 1970-ish gold and yellow patterned wallpaper. After adhering the paper to the wood, I aged it with a little stain and some olive green paint. Using a past halloween prop hanging on a black wire closet hook for reference, I painted the skeleton complete with shadow. I have 'framed' this piece with over 70 flattened bottle caps bent over the beveled edge and nailed into place. Measurements: 22" high 12.5" wide 1" deep Check my etsy shop Saraphina for availability
