This is my Nibblefest Art Contest entry for March. The theme this month is Ancient Egypt. I have painted a likeness of King Tut's gold death mask on a heavy, slightly textured tile which may be stoneware. As I painted, I tried to imagine what might be going through the mind of the original artist while painstakingly crafting this 24 pound mask of solid gold, inlaid lapis lazuli, carnelian, quartz, turquoise, obsidian, and colored glass.
