My
Quilled Custom framed Wedding Invitation keepsake is a wonderful
wedding or anniversary gift. This is a custom piece, handcrafted by me
in my New Hampshire studio. Send me the wedding invitation, let me know
the favorite color, and I quill the flowers, mat and custom frame under
glass in a gold frame. I ship back to you to give to the Bride and
Groom. A very special gift. The price range starts at $90 and each is custom. I can email a mocked up unglued photo for your approval, or you can let me do it my way.
I usually can ship within 2 weeks of receiving the
invitation. If you wish I can gift wrap and ship directly to the Bride
& Groom for the wedding. And the first anniversary is paper...
More designs and samples are on my website at www.quillingbysandrawhite.com.
What is Quilling?
Quilling is a very old craft. Its name comes of the old
practice of trimming the gold edges from books, and then winding the
narrow strips of paper around feather quills, using the quill for the
tool. Once rolled into circles and pinched into various shapes, the
paper is used as texture and detail in pictures.
My own technique uses the quill work as a background and details
to cut-outs of wildlife. The quill work simulates the feathers in the
duck and birds, the scales on the fish, the veins in the wildflowers,
and the fur on the moose. Please see my other work for my original
technique. The wedding invitation is decorated with traditional
quilling.
I have been making custom wedding invitation
keepsakes since 1973, when I did my girl friends invitation for her
wedding. In having made over 2500 of these during the years, I have
found that every one is different. And I love it that way.
