Art: Water Cat by Artist Robin Cruz McGee
My son has a cat named Roxas. He is a handsome devil, a mottled tabby. Roxas loves water and he is fascinated and distracted by the dribble from the bar sink. This is useful. This means he is playing with the water instead of plotting ways to snag food off the stove or contemplating the 5 foot leap from the table to the collar ties in the  dining room, a leap that he has yet to make. After a time, the dinner is cooked and the cat is soaked, easily remedied by a brisk rubdown with a towel administered just before serving. The other cats look on and scoff at Roxas's fetish. No respectable cat would indulge in such foolishness. But Roxas is young and a free spirit and cares little for the conventions of the other cats.
