Pelicans are an unusual beast. At first glance, ungainly looking, I have spent hours watching them glide effortlessly over the surf in a most impressive show of grace and precision. I have to laugh because I always get the image of a cargo plane doing aerobatics and doing it well. More proof that looks can be deceiving.
