The photos do not do justice to the bright colors used in this painting. The textural knife work used on the blossoms emphasize the shapes of the individual petals as well as the brilliant colors of orange, red, and yellow. Brushwork is used on the background sky and folliage. The sky is bright blue and the folliage is bright green with hints of yellow and red.

The combination of using both knife work and brushstrokes makes this a very unique piece.
