My grandmother loved the great outdoors. She had a garden, hunted for squirrels and rabbits and she loved to fish. The fishing trip I remembered was when I was about six years old. All was quiet except for the sound of water splashing against the boat and the humming noises of the dragonflies as they danced around the weeds surrounding the river. My grandmother called the dragonflies, "snake doctors".
This painting was inspired by my memories and is a fanciful depiction of a dragonfly highlighted by the light of the moon. I used heavy texture to emphasize the wings and body of the dragonfly. The background is lightly textured.
Painting is available in my Ebay Store.
