Wooden Dragonfly Box Shape: Circle Magnetic closure Subject: Leaning Willow tree w/ dragonflies. This year I wanted to draw on wood with heat. Every one of my boxes is hand drawn with a wood burner and then accented with pure red, copper and gold leaf. Each box is pine and stained with a red mahogany stain. Each box is completely wood sealed. I used different variations of application to achieve a different depth of color to each one. Every box has continued art all the way around the box and some even in the interior. The still have a slight odor from sealing. They have been left out to cure for nearly two weeks, I suppose this is something that just fades with time. My apologies in advance. My advice, do not sniff the box or eat out of it. It merely for decoration and to hold little treasures. These are my first wood works. I enjoyed working with this new media. I hope you can enjoy my boxes for many years to come.
