A strange mermaid-creature stares out of the depths in this painting. I wanted to leave out as much bright color as I could to keep it from looking tropical, and more like the darker deep oceans. I've always loved mysterious creatures of the sea and how they move with grace in everything they do. This painting was based for the most part on a dream that I had, and I wanted to capture the picture of a mermaid that was more fish than human.
