Hermit from the Morbidly Adorable Tarot

Art: Hermit from the Morbidly Adorable Tarot by Artist Misty Benson
Meet the Hermit from the Morbidly Adorable Tarot! The Hermit is about drawing inward, looking inside yourself. Though the Hermit is alone, his light often draws others to him. In this case, a little Caterpug, or Pugerpillar, and other little Gruppies and a Gritty are drawn to him! (Gruppies = Grub puppies and Gritties = Grub Kitties! Ha ha!)

This card is still a bit of a mystery to me. Though adorable and wonderful, I didn't really have a personal connection to the koala before this card. It came to me, in yes, another dream! The koala was the lamp, the light. The little caterpillar puppies are also something I picked up in a dream. My subconscious is pretty vocal while I sleep.

There is a lot of competing information on the koala's introverted vs. extroverted nature in animal symbolism. Because they are so darned cute and cuddly, we like to think they want to be the center of our attention. I based my ideas on the fact that in nature, they like to be solitary and are protective of their territories.
