These trees have a bit of a cliché appeal. They are a rather modern representation of Aspens or Birch trees, a tad impressionistic. They show Mother Nature's Colors of Fire.
The painting process starts with a black Gesso base. The tree limbs are added next, followed by the foliage. Impressionistic leaves on the ground are added through out the foliage painting process. After drying, a spray coating is added to prevent the Gesso from streaking while using the brushed protective coating..
Then the foliage is fine tuned again adding more paints as desired. Last, a brushed archival protective coating is added. In this case, I chose a satin brushed finish that helps enhance the appearance of color strength.
