Cover Girl Comic Style

Art: Cover Girl Comic Style by Artist Lar Shackelford
Some artists of today are calling this kind of technique a stencil. I can see why as it can be done in that manner but originally when Warhol did his, he reportedly worked with the process similar to half tones that were used in the printing of that day and time. If you recall what I'm talking about then you are a child of the seventies!

We saw a lot of this kind of art with advertising, models and actors faces, on rock and roll album covers, and for poster art as it's sometimes called.

Meet my Cover Girl! This is my lovely lady that I thought would be fun to try as ulta HUGE Cover Girl Comic Style art. The piece a gallery wrapped hand created painting on portrait canvas. It's a thick 1.5" and I painted the sides black to give it some dramatic effect. Not that one would need any dramatic EFFECTS with a face like this, eh? No worry, about the dramtic part, she's my wife.
