This blue horse painting was inspired by Fanz Marc's blue horse paintings he developed as a naturalist. Marc used blue in his horse and other animal paintings as a symbol of spiritualizm.

I've used blue in my horses to convery a feeling of cool comfort. I choose clear bright turquoise and ultramarine blues and contract them with warm copper and russet metallics for interest. My horses are intended as pure decoration since we no longer require them in our daily lives in the 21 Century developed nations.
