I will create a portrait of your pet as a quilted fabric wall hanging.
I make these in a selection of sizes and styles using your photograph as template.
Style 1: An original artist's rendering of the pet done completely in fibre art and thread painting
(examples from my art portfolio are: Jezabel, Lacy, Foxy puppy, and Tally )
Style 2: Your own good quality photograph of the pet reprinted onto fabric and set into a uniquely designed fabric applique or quilted background
(examples of this from my art portfolio are: Taxi cat, Jasmin, Teddy, and Bunji)
Style 3: Your photo reprinted onto fabric and appliqued on a simple hand dyed background with quilting
(expamle of this is Sweet Pea)
Prices are determined at the time that we discuss and decide upon the style and size you want.
Style 1 is most time-consuming and therefore higher priced than the photo-on-fabric styles.
Size also determines price, as the smaller the quilt, the less materials and time are required.
A large quilt can take over a year to complete in Style 1, a few months in style 2. The time involved includes design time and just plain time to explore techniques and materials to be used. I will keep you posted throughout the process via email.
Prices range from several hundred dollars to as little as $50.
