Low tide in the Thames estuary at Leigh-on-Sea had left these boats stranded in the muddy estuary bed. In this painting I wanted to get the right balance of tone to capture the impression of the autumn sun low in the sky, shining against the boats.
This was painted in acrylics on stretched canvas.
The painting is not framed.
The sides of the canvas have been painted, so it does not necessarily need framing.
