This is a small group of Eastern Painted Turtles sleepily basking on a log. Yes, it's a common subject, but I hoped that the prolific flowers would add some zing. They are pickerel weed blooms, a common aquatic plant.
I wanted to get the drowsy feeling that a warm summer's day often causes and the lush greenery that accompanies it.
