Inspired by the opening sequences of "Boardwalk Empire", this mixed media work was started as a demo piece at a holiday craft show and completed afterwards. It's a herring gull in breeding plumage lifting into flight from some rocks along Lake Erie's shoreline. I only hinted at the background, in the tradition of Asian art and allowing the viewer to fill it in within their imaginations.
