Art: TRICKSTER by Artist Gretchen Del Rio
Coyotes are often called 'tricksters.' The name refers to their mythical, magical qualities.  Coyotes are symbolically regarded as teachers. They are cunning.  Where I live coyotes roam at will in packs. Marvelous animals. And, of course, man is trying to 'get rid' of them as they invade populated areas. But not on my mountain. We love our coyotes. They are very large as coyotes go. We also don't let our dogs wander though because they may not survive coyote pack encounters. My large cattle dog, Buddha, has a coyote girlfriend. They bark and sniff at each other through the chain link fence. Coyotes and dogs do mate. Love them or kill them I guess.
