This summer I noticed for the first time a field nearby that was dotted generously powdered with Queen Anne's Lace. I remembered that someone told me it was given this name because it had a little red flower in the middle which they say was a drop of blood from Queen Anne's fingers while she was making laces. I had to stop and investigate this claim and sure enough, there it was, a lone flower right in the center surrounded by clusters of little white petals!
