Art: Scry by Artist Emily J White
Nestled in a soft bush of shadowy leaves, this quiet fae sits with determination. She holds up her crystal to starlight faint and flickering. The globe suddenly awakens and throws light into the darkest underbrush. And she hesitates not, scrying for her future, for the future of magic...

This is an original acrylic painting on stretched artist canvas. It is signed and dated in the bottom right hand corner.

Scrying is a form of divination using a crystal ball, water, mirrors, smoke, even fire. As the crystal is clear but also reflects light, one can potentially see into the future, present, or the past by clearing the mind and opening the heart and soul to the vibrations of ethereal planes.

I have been facinated with the occult for a long time. I grew up in a household where herbs, crystals and other stones, Tarot cards, and tea leaf readings were commonplace. My stepmother is a certified Shamanistic healer and trained with Shamans in Brazil and Mexico. Much of my art is influenced by these not so mainstream ways of "feeling" life, rather than just seeing it. I like to keep my soul open (but protected) to the other realms.
