If you haven't seen the Midwest, or even if you have, but don't appreciate its beauty, please take time. Stop on the side of the road. You won't have to venture far outside of a city. Unlike the Coasts, the Midwest is largely free of that suburban sprawl that makes cities run into each other. The rural character is so breathtaking and intersting, I never run out of things to admire. These bales reminded me of a military company, resting before advancement. Their mission, of course, is to feed our livestock and ultimately, us.
