The entries to the Cyclamen show are due to the urging of a friend who offered me the use of a few of her photos of cyclamen, because I had none. It is a collaborative effort, which, without the borrowed photos, would not have been achieved.
Through brainstorming and many trial and error images, Mikki (my friend) and I came up with several possibilities. This one is Mikki's take on the flower and reflects her imagination and creativity. The surreal effect is due to the cloning of the center (eye) of the bloom and duplicating it in an effort to endow the flower with human traits, i.e. by putting a face to it. Adjustment of hue and saturation formed part of the overall intended result which "floats" nicely on a "natural" background creating the illusion of the Mother bloom looking over and "minding" the child..
We hope you enjoy the illusion as much as we enjoyed creating it.
