Genesis 2

Art: Genesis 2 by Artist Dawn Lee Thompson
Based on the Wiccan creation myth of Myria: "with the song came motion, waves that poured outward and became all the spheres and circles of the worlds. The Goddess became filled with love, swollen with love, and She gave birth to a rain of bright spirits that filled the worlds and became all beings." This stained glass panel is truly breathtaking in person! It features a prism of cathedral glass colors forming the rays, earth and spheres, contrasted against the opal glass of the painted figure and a fully opaque rippled glass background. Very dramatic and colorful. The heavily pregnant figure was hand painted and airbrushed with low-fire enamels. This piece was crafted in the traditional lead came method, (as opposed to the copper foil or "Tiffany" method). This technique, where each piece of glass is hand cut, ground, leaded, soldered, puttied and finished has remained virtually unchanged from the Middle Ages. Leaded and puttied panels are wind and weather proof, and make a stunning window treatments, room dividers or wall art. This is framed in sturdy zinc with hanging hooks attached for immediate display.
