I was out over Memorial Day weekend taking a bit of an artistic hiatus alone. As an artist mom who works at home it can be difficult to have days of peace and the ability to just quietly muse. I was able to take advantage of my husband being home over the holiday to really get out and explore Olympic National Park with my camera. I was interested in photos for reference for my paintings and photos to use as greeting cards for the local summer tourist market here. I took hundreds of photos this day but some of my very favorite where of the wild forget me nots that are in grand profusion as part of the understory in the rain forest here at the park. The trees are huge, the understory thick with a wild profusion of plants and just sprinkled over the whole thing were these beautiful nodding little blue heads. Exquisite. This photograph has not been enhanced in anyway, only cropped.
