Ko-no-Hana

Art: Ko-no-Hana by Artist Christine Wasankari
Ko-no-Hana: The Japanese Blossom Princess (child-flower), symbol of delicate earthly life. This one of a kind original mixed media piece is a collaboration with my husband and partner. His work is the sculpture and beadwork and mine is the painting and final details. The art has been created on 1/4" masonite. The mixed media consists of entirely hand sculpted polymer clay. One exception is the face, this comes from a mold. The beadwork consists of glass beads and tubes, swarovski crystal beads, semiprecious stones: carnelian, blue lace agate, turquoise, carnelian, clear crystal quartz, amber - and genuine shell beads, heishi, mother of pearl.
