ARTIST STATEMENT

Sculpture is a fruitful experience for the viewer and the artist. The act of creation is often more meaningful to the carver, than the finished piece. This is not to say that our feeble attempts are in the purest sense creation. Only God can truly create; artists can only hope to emulate. It is in this emulation of the Creator that sculptors are able to commune with the souls of their neighbour and in so doing move the viewer to a better understanding of the world around him. It is with great respect that I view the art of sculpture, for it is within itself a great responsibility to advance in its progress, the evolution of the human spirit.
