Words are as important as images in this piece, as they are in many of my mixed media assemblages. Here, loose calligraphy surrounds the puck and captures some of his wild habitat. I have been working with mixed media tile pieces, most of them intense or dark...I made this one with a much higher value, then had to wait until what was meant to go ON those light tiles finally spoke to me. My friend Kevin has a marvelous Puckish face, and I had new "red earth" ink to play with...it was inevitable alchemy.
