Art: Graaaaains! by Artist Carissa M Martos
I started with a photograph of a chicken skeleton, and repositioned the wings into the classic "zombie" pose. Then, I digitally dyed it green and yellow, and added in an eye (from a photograph of an eagle) and created rotting, textured flesh (all from photos of uncooked chicken). The brain was a loaf of ground chicken breast, dyed purple in my digital photo editor. Then I cast the poor chicken into a deserted chicken farm, and "voila." Lastly, I ran it, piecemeal, through a digital photo editor's water-color filter, but I can't decided if I like it better as a seeming photograph or as a painting. :/ So, the main piece is the watercolor, with the detailed images showcasing the textures. This piece was cut together in Microsoft paint, by hand.

As digital art, can be purchased in sizes ranging from 5x7s up to 16x20 inch fine-art Giclee prints. They are printed on fiber-based fine art paper and can be mounted on foam core. All these prints are signed and hand numbered in limited runs of 50, but can be purchased in notecard/journal/other product form. I thought this show was a wonderful and creative topic, and so I've been prepping for it, searching out good photographs and textures for nearly a month.
