Art: Goat by Artist Camille Meeker Turner
Going back to the barn animals, I thought a little goat would be fun! I don't have much experience with goats, we didn't have them on the farm. I do know that they're inclined to get themselves into predicaments.  I've stopped along the roadside to help a few of them who got their head stuck in wire fencing, I would frequently carry wire cutters just for that reason.  I wanted to create him so he would fit in just about any outdoor dollhouse setting, maybe a garden, barnyard scene or even placed outside of a front porch. When Sculpting this piece, I ran the wire armature all the way into the base of the 'rock' anchoring it securely and permanently into the base. I first carefully sculpted this in polymer clay, painted the tiny details with acrylic then I applied rough cut alpaca flocking. I used bamboo fiber for the tail and his little goatee. The tail is in a fixed position, I made his eyes in a separate process then curing them into the sculpture. I also made some grass springing up from the 'cracks' in the rock. Also a clump of grass for his mouth as shown in the photos.  For the new owner I will send an original digitally signed certificate of authenticity that may be verified through the ebsq site. This would make a great addition to your dollhouse collection!
