I was relieved to read in contemporary painting master Qiang Huang's (see link in Art to Admire list to the right) blog last week referring to leaves he wrote , "They look casual and trivial, but they are pretty hard to paint." I couldn't agree more! Leaves seem flat but they definitely take up space and a purely linear approach won't do. They are GREEN. You know how hard greens can be to paint. Ah, well... practice, practice and more practice!
