The moon reminds me of our quieter, darker emotions. I often think about what emotions are for, evolutionarily speaking. I think they are a different way of knowing; a kind of sense. They give us input about ourselves and the environment in a unique way. No wonder both positive and negative emotions prove useful, if unpleasant at times.
