Art: The Fall of Michal by Artist Alma Lee

My first painting to come out of my studio, The Fall of Michal. For those of you who may remember my King David danced this is based on that...no it is not copied but I sold the original color pencil drawing for really cheap, and I have regretted that. I have tried and tried to do the same sort of broken plane cubism with very little success until now. It is said that when Kind David returned the ark to Isarel he danced in worship so hard his clothing feel off. His wife Michal was so embarrassed by his behaviour that she chastised him, to which he told her in a sense If you find my dancing so offensive then I will not trouble you with my company. And he meant it! Though she was provided for very well by David he would never again visit her bedchamer. I think the whole lesson here is mind what and who offends you. Think what your life would be without that person in it. It is a weighty thought, and a hard look at what you hold true...The Fall of Michal, is an original, 18x20", acrylic and oil on stretched canvas. And signed by me.
