I remember a rose
fragrant and fine
it grew on a bush
never a vine
I remember a rose
on my Mama's Land
perfect and porcelain
Never one more grand
If you are like me you love roses. but the hybrid roses of today are not like those I remember from childhood. It is the smell for one thing you knew that there was a rose bush a 100 yards away it's scent so sweet and powdery would tickle your nose. The blooms were seldom "perfect" but that was part of the charm. But what I remember best of all was thier sheer abundance You could usually pick a dozen and the bush was just as beautiful as before. Mama keep a bouquet in the dining and living rooms all summer long
The Rose I remember is a 16x20" stretched canvas acrylic and oil original oil painting on stretched canvas. It is highly texture to give it that old world feel.
