Art: equinus by Artist Alexis Covato
"Equinus" is inspired by mythology and studies of psychology.  Here three horse children are seen amidst an expressive furry of color.  The bodies are highly stylized and the anatomy takes on an almost Cubist feel.  The abstraction is used to convey emotional impact.  The uses of multiple eyes carries the view between figures as well as creates internal interaction within each figure.  Equinus refers to horses which references other spiritual tales and such as the "Horsemen" from the Bible.  The image is a complex one stirring questions with in the viewer.
