Little House on a Hill

- by Jennifer Lommers

This week's theme: Yellow

Yellow is a complicated colour. It can be difficult to wear and hard to live in. It can indicate illness and infection or alert us to hazards. But it can also represent warmth and cheer. A splash of yellow can brighten a room and lift a mood. In the spring, yellow is at its best. We find it in blooms both flashy and quiet, butterflies and even the clothes we wear. Because there is so much yellow appearing all around, we decided to feature some of the happier shades of yellow in this week's EBSQ Art of the Day.

Art: Little House on a Hill by Artist Jennifer Lommers
** From my PAINTING A DAY for 30 days annual ORIGINAL art promotion ** Painting Day 6 - Nov. 15, 2009: I'm enjoying moving into a new house, painting the interior in all warm colors, which I'm sure heavily influenced this little painting. Thick with paint, this piece showcases a field of yellow and white flowers with a sweet little white cottage yonder. The canvas is 1 1/2 in. thick and was prepared with layers of a colorful mix of yellows magentas and greens. I hope you enjoy my Little House on a Hill! Painted with artist quality materials - Daniel Smith Acrylic Paints on 100% Cotton Canvas - Fine Art quality that lasts! The painting is signed JENLO on the front and signed and dated on the back. I hope you enjoy!
