Red Fox in Winter Brooch Pendant

- by Lisa M. Nelson

This week's theme: What's To Come

This week we prepare to march headlong into a new calendar year. The start of a new year seems to possess unlimited potential. We hope and speculate about what's to come, but we can't know how the year will unfold. This week's Art of the Day is not bound together by theme. Like the start of a new year, easy assumptions as to what each day will bring cannot be made. We hope you'll find this week's art selections to be delightful and unexpected. Happy 2016 to everyone and may your year be filled with the wonderful and unexpected.

Art: Red Fox in Winter Brooch Pendant by Artist Lisa M. Nelson
Especially made for those who love original art and care enough to display handmade in their daily attire, this Red Fox is both a pendant and a brooch. Please note, this is a real illustration, not a print.

Soft shades of russet red against a winter night's dark blue sky. Snowflakes softly fall in the gentle breeze and all is right in the woodland forest. This lovely little Red Fox in Winter illustration was done with colored pencils, archival ink and watercolors on Stonehenge paper and sealed with many layers UV resistant varnish. It's set in a hand carved walnut bezel with archival adhesive and comes with an adaptable brooch / pendant setting on the back so you can wear it as a necklace or pin.

The brooch measures approximately 2.5" high and 1.5" across. The illustration inside the setting measures 34 x 60 mm. The back is signed.

This item is water resistant but not water proof. Please wear with care and do not submerge in water.
