The White Lord

- by Peggy Hayes

This week's theme: Welcome EBSQ Juried's Newest Members

Twice a year in the spring and the fall, artists can submit their work for acceptance into EBSQ Juried. Over the past two weeks, EBSQ's Art Of The Day has been showcasing Fall 2008's newest members. Because there are 16 new members, we had two weeks and two days worth for Art Of The Day. To keep it simple, Wednesday through Sunday will be pieces that feature the colour blue. Congratulations to the newest EBSQ Juried Members and enjoy the work in blue.

Art: The White Lord by Artist Peggy Hayes
The White Lord is a new design and a new technique. All scale work done of the body is sculpted from cernit, each piece individually. The body and wings are made from Craft Velour and hand sculpted. A flexible skeletal frame makes this dragon very poseable. The head was sculpted with clay, made into a mold and cast in liquid latex to provide detail and the right "feel." Horns, claws, and scaling were hand sculpted from Cernit.
