Art: A Murder Of Crows by Artist Carol Thompson
"A Murder Of Crows"

"When crows gather in more than two together, they are refered to as a 'murder' of crows."

Artist Comments: "I like the reference to a group of crows as a 'murder of crows'. It reminds me of the poem by Edgar Allen Poe; 'The Raven'. (Although that phrase does not occur in the poem.) In my research of animal groups, I discovered the term for crows is 'a murder of crows'. Most other birds are referred to as being a flock. Crows are uniquely called by this nomenclature."
