Tortoise pendant

- by Deborah Sprague

This week's theme: Turtles

I am not sure what it is about turtles. We have fashioned creation myths around them as well as fables and legends. They are found on land and in the sea and at one point some years ago, in my sandbox. We definitely have a fascination with turtles. It starts when we are children and we carry it with us for a lifetime.

Art: Tortoise pendant by Artist Deborah Sprague
OOAK one of a kind ART focal bead pendant signed Dsprague This piece was hand formed using ceramic clay, it is then cured over a period of time and bisque fired in a kiln. Once cooled it is hand glazed and refired to a hard glass finish. I then add chunks of dichroic glass MY OWN design and creation - and refire the piece once again. It take precise temperatures and constant watch to achive the correct effect.
