Art of the Day: Monday February 06, 2017

Wedgewood Teapot

- by Robin Cruz McGee

This week's theme: Tucked Away

As we compile each week's Art of the Day, we often come across art that catches our eye, but doesn't quite fit with the week we're working on. Instead of just moving on, we tuck them away to use another time. This week we opened that file and pulled seven pieces that have been waiting for their day in the in spotlight. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Art: Wedgewood Teapot by Artist Robin Cruz McGee
This is one of my older pieces when i was working a lot in pewter. There was a visual pun in this piece. First, it is a piece of metal shaped to represent a piece of wood. on top of that, there is a wood piece mascarading as a metal wedge spliting off a piece of the "wood". Also notice the woodgrain in the finish.
