The Elder

- by Amanda Makepeace

This week's theme: This and That

This week's EBSQ's Art of the Day has no particular theme. In fact there is no theme at all. Seven days, seven pieces of art.

Art: The Elder by Artist Amanda Makepeace
Gatsoh is the Navajo word for Jackrabbit, but my Gatsoh is a Jackalope, which makes him an Elder and Medicine Man of his warren.

Jackalopes are mythological creatures of American Folklore. They even have pseudo-taxonomic names: Lepus temperamentalus. Jackalopes are very shy creatures. One of the ways they are thought to elude capture is their amazing ability to imitate the human voice.

Painted in Photoshop CS6.
