White Rose in Neon

This week's theme: The Colour Yellow

Yellow. It's the colour of sunlight and spring. It can be resplendent; opulent in it's glory. Yellow is also a colour that tells us to take notice and puts us on alert. When we see yellow - whether it's a warning sign or a bold, yellow bloom, our instinct is to look twice.

Art: White Rose in Neon by Artist Carolyn Schiffhouer

White Rose in Neon was created from a picture taken by myself of a bouquet of white roses. I worked on it in Photoshop to create the neon touches and the painterly textures. I was pleased with how this one turned out and especially liked the bright edges of the white roses. I have entered this one in the Flower of the Month show, Roses, for 2013.
